JACKSON, Miss. – The Jackson State men’s tennis team will face the No. 6 TCU Horned Frogs in the opening round of the 2017 NCAA Men’s Tennis Championship on Friday, May 12 at 2 p.m. at the Bayard H. Friedman Tennis Center.
The Tigers (8-20) and TCU (19-4) will square off in the second match on Friday. The opening first round match will feature No. 33 Florida State (17-11) and No. 36 Arkansas (16-12) at 11 a.m. The winners of each match will go to the second round which is scheduled for a 2 p.m. start time. The winner of that match will then earn a spot in the NCAA Championship Team Finals, which will be held in Athens, Georgia (May 18-23).
The Tigers received the Southwestern Athletic Conference’s bid after the league’s tournament champion Alabama State was ruled ineligible for NCAA post season competition, due to low APR scored.
