The Southwestern Athletic Conference released its 2017 Preseason Poll and the Jackson State Lady Tigers were predicted to finish seventh in the conference standings. Howard was picked to win the SWAC regular season title.
Last season, the first under head coach Stephen Peck, the Lady Tigers posted a 4-12-1 record. Key wins came over Grambling State (5-0) in JSU’s first shutout of the season. JSU also picked up big wins over ins-state rival Alcorn State (4-2) and at Southern (4-1).
JSU opens the 2017 season on Sunday, August 13 when the Lady Tigers travel to Jonesboro, Arkansas. Match play is set for a 4 p.m. start time.
