Tigers Drop Game 2 Against Alabama State

JACKSON, Miss. – The Jackson State baseball team drop their second straight game to Alabama State to lose the series 2-0. The Tigers fell 15-7 to the Hornets during Saturday’s early afternoon contest.

Jordan Bolden (2-2) took the loss on the mound. The senior right-handed pitcher pitched 4.1 innings for seven hits, eight earned runs, three walks and one strikeout. Several other Tigers took the mound to close the game. Francisco Cervantes pitched 0.1 innings, Joshua Santiago pitched 1.1 innings, Jesse Anderson pitched 0.1 innings, and Jashanno Sweeting pitched 2.2 innings.

At the plate, Cornelius Copealnd and Jarvis Warner led the Tiger offense. Copeland recorded 5 at-bats, one run, two hits, and three RBSIs. Warner recorded three at-bats, two runs, and three hits for a perfect 1.000 outing at the plate.

The Tigers will back in action on Sunday, March 12 at 1 p.m. when they take on Alabama State in the final game of the series. Come out and support Tiger baseball.
