CROSS COUNTRY RECAP: JSU FINISHES 3RD AND 9TH AT SWAC CHAMPIONSHIPS

CLINTON, Miss. – The Jackson State men’s and women’s cross country teams had good performances during the 2016 Southwestern Athletic Conference Cross Country Championships, which was held at Choctaw Trails Friday morning.

James Curtis and Stherline Silencieux were the top performers for Jackson State. Curtis, who was named to the All-SWAC first team, finished in second place with a time of 26:13.34. Darrion Hampton followed with a 15th place finish (27:38.87), Eclecius Franklin finished 18th (27:44.51) and Jacques Williams and Rahim Aponte finished 28th and 29th respectively.

Silencieux placed 15th for the Lady Tigers with a time of 20:03.93. The Tigers finished third and the Lady Tigers came in ninth place.
