Garth Cahill enters his third season (one redshirt year) as a member of the Jackson State baseball team.
Cahill redshirted his sophomore academic year.
Cahill appeared on the mound in 16 games with 2 starts for a 2-1 record with 1 save. He pitched 33.0 innings allowing 45 hits, 28 runs, 28 runs (25 earned) with 24 strikeouts for a 6.82 ERA. Cahill ranked fifth on the team in games as sub, third in win/loss percentage, third in saves, and third in relief.
He joined the Jackson State baseball team after graduating from Glenwood High School in South Africa. He participated in the Green Machine’s shooting, softball, cricket, rugby and baseball teams. He was an honor student, named to the All-State team for shooting (2012, 2013) and softball (2011, 2012, 2013), named to the All-Conference teams for cricket (2009) and rugby (2010), and was a member of South Africa’s National Baseball Team (2013).
Garth is the last child of Gavin and Leigh Cahill. He has one brother, Glenn Cahill, and one sister, Jodi Cahill.
