Mark Watson enters his third season as a member of the Jackson State baseball team.
Watson played in 22 games with 12 starts during the 2016 season. He maintained a .188 batting average with 48 at-bats, 11 runs, and nine hits (three doubles and two home runs) for 5 RBIs, 18 total bases, and a .375 slugging percentage. At the plate, he was issued three walks and two hit-by-pitches for a .264 on-base percentage. On the field, Watson recorded 44 putouts, 14 assists for a .870 fielding percentage.
Watson ranked third on the team in games as sub and ninth in assists.
Watson appeared in 22 games with 11 starts. He had 46 at-bats, 6 runs, 9 hits (4 doubles), 8 RBIs, and 13 total bases for a .196 batting avg. and a .283 slugging pct. He also recorded 1 stolen base, 22 putouts, and 33 assist for a .932 fielding pct.
For his effort in the classroom, Watson was named to the SWAC All-Academic Team.
Watson attended Timber Creek High School in Orlando, Fl. He was a member of the Wolves Baseball team. He received honor 2011-2015 and was a member of the 2013 District Championship team.
Watson is the youngest child of Mark, Sr. and Tonya Watson. He has an older sister Maya.
