EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. – Former Jackson State wide receiver Dan Williams had a remarkable performance in the XFL opener for the Tampa Bay Vipers.
The 6-foot-3, 200-pound Williams finished with a game-high 123 yards and added six receptions for an average of 20.5 yards per reception. Williams also had a 42-yard pitch-and-catch to cap the outing.
Tampa Bay dropped a 23-3 decision to the New York Guardians.
Williams and the Vipers are in action next Saturday at the Seattle Dragons. Kickoff is set for 4 p.m. and will be broadcast on FOX.
