Jackson State University football linebacker Aubrey Miller Jr. has been named the Southwestern Athletic Conference Defensive Player of the Week for his performance in the Tigers' Eastern Division title-clinching win over Alabama A&M.
Miller earned SWAC honors for the third time this season after recording a season-high 17 tackles (nine solo) to go along with a fumble recovery and one pass breakup in JSU's 27-13 victory over Alabama A&M.
Following Saturday's game, Mobile native and JSU Pro Football Hall of Famer Robert Brazile presented Miller with his official invitation to the 2023 Reese's Senior Bowl. The Reese's Senior Bowl is the nation's most prestigious college all-star game, as it annually serves as the first step of the NFL draft process, which explains the hashtag, #TheDraftStartsInMOBILE.
Jackson State will look to become the first SWAC team since 1991 (Alabama State) to go undefeated during the regular season when JSU plays at Alcorn Saturday at 2 p.m.
