JACKSON – North Alabama defeated Jackson State 24-7 Saturday afternoon in non-conference action at Mississippi Veterans Memorial Stadium.
Freshman linebacker Keonte Hampton made his presence felt. The 6-foot-1, 220-pound, West Point, Mississippi product totaled three solo tackles and assisted on nine stops for a total of 7.5 tackles.
As a team, the JSU defense totaled eight tackles for loss, which was –39 total yards.
Sophomore running back
Keshawn Harper scored the Tigers' lone touchdown on a three-yard plunge at the 10:53 mark in the fourth quarter.
Senior
Jarrad Hayes passed 17-for-24 for 122 yards and did not throw a touchdown or an interception.
Jordan Johnson rushed for a team-high 42 yards on 10 carries.
