JACKSON, Miss. – In 2012, Giving Tuesday was created as a simple idea: a day that encourages people to do good. Tomorrow, Dec. 1, 2020, Jackson State Athletics will participate in Giving Tuesday, an annual philanthropic event which is aimed at encouraging generosity in communities.
Beginning tomorrow morning, all Jackson State alumni, fans, and donors will have the opportunity to support the sports program of their choice or by making a direct contribution to the Jackson State Division of Athletics. All Jackson State supporters may donate to athletics by clicking here or texting 'THEE' to 71777 on mobile devices.
"When we receive a donation it directly impacts our student-athletes and their welfare, " said JSU Vice President and Director of Athletics Ashley Robinson. "Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we've got a lot of work ahead of us, and your donation will make it much easier to get things done and thrust us forward."
The cost of competing at the highest level and providing a quality education for outstanding student-athletes continues to climb. Private support enables us to recruit and train elite student-athletes in quality facilities.
Top-notch facilities are not just important for recruiting the nation's best and brightest student-athletes, but also equip them with the best tools to pursue their scholastic and athletic goals.
Your support will also help us fund scholarships and compete with peer institutions.
Financial stability ultimately breeds success, and success breeds pride among JSU's many alumni and friends.
On Giving Tuesday, your donations will ensure that Jackson State University maintains our position as one of the nation's premier athletic programs.
