JACKSON, Miss. - The Jackson State Lady Tigers came up just shy in the 2021 SWAC Championship on Monday morning, falling to Alabama State by a final of 4-1 in New Orleans, La.

In singles play, Fabiola Candal Ranalli defeated Iesha Shepard in two sets, 6-2 and 6-3.

Coming into the season, ASU had not lost a SWAC matchup in over four years, yet it was the Lady Tigers that ended that streak back on March 14, 2021 in a 4-3 win over the Alabama State Lady Hornets. 

Despite falling to the Lady Hornets in the Championship on Monday, the Lady Tigers closed out the season with an impressive run to the Championship match while finishing with an overall record of 9-4 after an amazing season out on the courts.
