JACKSON, MISS. -- Barstool Sports and SMAC Productions announced their first co-production,
Coach Prime, featuring Pro Football Hall of Famer Deion "Coach Prime" Sanders, will premiere August 29 through September 2 on Barstool Sports at 6 p.m. CT each day.
Coach Prime is a three-hour, six-part documentary series that follows Sanders, the NFL legend, in his first season as head coach of the Jackson State University Tigers football team. Episodes will stream across Barstool Sports digital, mobile and social platforms, and will be made available on demand immediately thereafter.

Highlighting often overlooked and underfunded HBCUs (Historically Black Colleges and Universities),
Coach Prime focuses on Sanders' mission to level the playing field for Jackson State University while showcasing the rich diversity, tradition and culture only experienced at an HBCU. The series premieres one week before the Tigers open their fall season in the Orange Blossom Classic versus Florida A&M on September 5.

"I am incredibly proud to share the incredible story of Jackson State University, our football program, and our student athletes. This docuseries serves as a platform that will help us continue the important work we are doing to level the playing field, create opportunity and raise awareness for JSU and all HBCUs. I BELIEVE!" said Coach Prime.

Jackson State University, like many HBCUs, was once well known for producing NFL-caliber talent, including NFL legend Walter Payton. However, with limited resources and support, competing with the allure of well-funded programs became a David vs. Goliath story for HBCUs. Having already pulled top prospects away from other major programs, including his sons Shilo and
Shedeur Sanders, the series will give viewers an exclusive look into Coach Prime's quest to transform Jackson State University into a contender within the college football landscape and prepare the young men on his team for their future, on and off the field. With the unwavering support of The Sonic Boom of the South, the students, and the community, Coach Prime is ready to have the world meet the JSU Tigers.

"Coach Prime" is Barstool Sports' first venture into premium, long-form content. The series is produced by
Deion Sanders, Constance Schwartz-Morini of SMAC Entertainment, and Erika Nardini and Jen Simons of Barstool Sports.
