As Jackson State University student-athletes achieved athletic success during Fall 2022, the academic success of the Tigers was equally impressive.
 
In the fall, more than 150 student-athletes attained at least a 3.0 grade-point average, with 35 student-athletes with a 4.0 GPA. As a collective, Jackson State student-athletes combined for a 3.101-grade point average in the Fall 2022 semester, producing 28 graduates.
 
"Jackson State University student-athletes continue to show the connection of academic success and athletic success," said JSU Vice President / Director of Athletics Ashley Robinson. "Every semester, they display you can be both outstanding achievers in the classroom and in competition, and are another shining light for Tiger Nation. We congratulate them on their outstanding achievements throughout 2022."
 
Of the 13 athletics units including cheerleading, 10 teams earned at least a 2.8 GPA during Fall 2022, led by women's soccer with a 3.496 GPA, just ahead of men's tennis with a 3.475 GPA.
 
Those teams were followed by volleyball (3.453), bowling (3.355), softball (3.318), women's tennis (3.091), women's basketball (2.949), baseball (2.946), men's track (2.891), cheerleading (2.803), men's basketball (2.782), football (2.756), and women's track (2.701).
 
For the 2022 calendar year computing spring, summer, and fall semesters, Jackson State University student-athletes combined for a 3.164-grade point average. A total of 12 athletics units attained at least a 2.9 GPA, led by men's tennis (3.569), volleyball (3.560), soccer (3.509), softball (3.337), bowling (3.304), women's tennis (3.148), women's basketball (  3.047), baseball (3.026), men's track (2.947), men's basketball (2.933), football (2.906), and cheerleading (2.901).
