MONTGOMERY, Ala | In the Tigers third tournament of the season, they finished fourth in the ISTAP Hornet classic hosted by Alabama State over the weekend. Senior
Catalina Tovar made all-tournament with a fourth-place finish overall.

Tovar was joined by fellow upperclassmenÂ
Juliana Rincon (12
th) and
Faith Washington (15
th), along with freshman
MacKenzie Conway (19
th) rounding off the top 20.

Jackson State (15-19) went 2-3 in Baker play, dropping their first two matchups against host Alabama State 965-815 and eventual winner Alabama A&M 907-905. Their first win would come against the FAMU Rattlers in a 786-702 win. They would split their final two games of Baker play with a 949-933 loss to Southern and an 898-759 win against Grambling.

The Tigers opened Traditional play winning three straight matches with a 762-652 win over Grambling, an 846-807 win against the Southern Jaguars, and an 827-675 win against FAMU. They dropped their final two matches against Alabama A&M (974-792) and Alabama State (938-914).

In bracket play, Jackson State dropped their first-round matchup against Southern 4-2, before sweeping FAMU in the second-round 4-0. In a reverse of their first-round match outcome, the Tigers defeated Southern 4-2 in their final match to claim third place in the tournament.
