MONTGOMERY, Ala | In the Tigers third tournament of the season, they finished fourth in the ISTAP Hornet classic hosted by Alabama State over the weekend. Senior Catalina Tovar made all-tournament with a fourth-place finish overall.
 
Tovar was joined by fellow upperclassmen Juliana Rincon  (12^th) and Faith Washington (15^th), along with freshman MacKenzie Conway (19^th) rounding off the top 20.
 
Jackson State (15-19) went 2-3 in Baker play, dropping their first two matchups against host Alabama State 965-815 and eventual winner Alabama A&M 907-905. Their first win would come against the FAMU Rattlers in a 786-702 win. They would split their final two games of Baker play with a 949-933 loss to Southern and an 898-759 win against Grambling.
 
The Tigers opened Traditional play winning three straight matches with a 762-652 win over Grambling, an 846-807 win against the Southern Jaguars, and an 827-675 win against FAMU. They dropped their final two matches against Alabama A&M (974-792) and Alabama State (938-914).
 
In bracket play, Jackson State dropped their first-round matchup against Southern 4-2, before sweeping FAMU in the second-round 4-0. In a reverse of their first-round match outcome, the Tigers defeated Southern 4-2 in their final match to claim third place in the tournament.
