JACKSON, Miss. | The Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) East Division champion, No. 17/20 Jackson State, closes out the regular season on Saturday against in-state rival Alcorn State on Saturday afternoon.

The game kicks off at 2:00 p.m. on ESPN+.

Jackson State (9-2, 7-0 SWAC) enters the game on a seven-game winning streak and fresh off a 16-10 victory over Alabama State last weekend that secured a berth in the conference championship game for the third time in four years. The Tigers are playing their sixth true road game and seventh game away from home this season, winning four of the previous six including winning the last four.

The two teams met last year to close out the regular season with Alcorn State coming out on top 28-24, while Jackson State has won three out of the last four meetings.

• Irv Mulligan continues to lead the conference in rushing with 953 yards through nine games this season, averaging 105.9 yards per game after missing the first two games of the season. With 47 yards, Mulligan will become the 13th individual to reach the 1,000-yard mark for a single season at Jackson State.
• The Tigers have won 10 weekly SWAC awards this season including a pair this past week when Robert McDaniels earned the Defensive Player of the Week award after a 14-tackle performance and Matt Noll the Specialist of the Week after pinning Alabama State deep on punts.
• Jackson State has won three of the last four meetings with Alcorn State, and the two teams have split the last 10 meetings.
• Jackson State will be off for a week following the game as it prepares to host the 2024 Pepsi SWAC Football Championship hosted by General Motors on December 7.
