GRAMBLING, La. | Grambling State took advantage of five Jackson State turnovers to pull out a 41-20 in a non-conference matchup at Eddie G. Robinson Memorial Stadium on Saturday night.

Jackson State (2-2) outgained Grambling State 438-271 with 279 of those coming through the air.
Cam'Ron McCoy finished 8-of-17 with 140 yards and a touchdown, while
Jacobian Morgan finished with 5-of-12 for 139 yards and a touchdown. The Tigers had three players with three receptions including
Joanes Fortilien with 91 yards a touchdown.

J.D. Martin led a ground attack that racked up 159 yards with 56 yards on just eight carries.
Travis Terrell Jr. finished with 45 yards on five carries, and
Irv Mulligan 39 on seven carries.

Robert McDaniel led the defense with eight tackles and
Jeremiah Williams finished with seven.

Grambling State scored on back-to-back possessions in the opening quarter using a missed opportunity on defense for an early interception to drive 77 yards in eight plays to take a 7-0 lead. They used a short field on their second possession to push the lead to two touchdowns driving 49 yards in nine plays.

Jackson State was finally able to answer in the second quarter, using just one play after a Grambling punt when McCoy hit Fortilien on a quick slant and the receiver outran the defense for the final 60 yards to trim the lead in half at 14-7. The Tigers were able to trim to one at 14-13 on a 33-yard run by Terrell before the extra point was botched on the snap and hold with just over two minutes remaining in the half.

Grambling extended the lead right before half with a pick-six.

Jackson State pulled to within one with 3:32 remaining in the third quarter when Morgan came off the bench and on his third pass hit
Ja'Naylon Dupree who raced down the sideline for a 66-yard touchdown. Grambling State took advantage of a Jackson State turnover after a big play was called back to recover the ball in the end zone to extend the lead to 28-20 with 42 seconds remaining in the third. In the final play of the quarter, Grambling State forced another JSU turnover with an interception by Morgan.

After starting the drive in the red zone, Grambling scored again to extend their lead to 35-20 at the 13:19 mark. Grambling added two field goals late in the fourth for the final.

Game Notes
- For the second time this season, both games on the road, Jackson State was held scoreless ending a streak of consecutive games scoring in the opening stanza.
- The 70-yard touchdown reception by Fortilien on the Tigers' first possession of the second quarter is the longest play from scrimmage this season.
- The touchdown run by Terrell in the second quarter was his first collegiate touchdown.
- Jackson State outgained Grambling State by 101 yards in the first half including 98 on the ground while holding the opposing Tigers to just 41 yards rushing.
- Dupree scored his first career touchdown on the second-longest play from scrimmage for the Tigers on the night late in the third quarter.
- The announced attendance of 19,085 is the largest in Eddie G. Robinson Memorial Stadium since October 27, 2007, when Grambling State faced Texas Southern (19,639).
- The loss ended a two-game winning streak for Jackson State this season, and in the series.
- The Tigers were forced into five turnovers, the most this season in one game with two resulting in defensive scores.
