BIRMINGHAM, Ala. | Godfrey Kimutai and Lorine Jelagat each received weekly awards by the Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) on Tuesday afternoon.

Kimutai was named Runner of the Week after his continued dominance in the Belhaven Invitational. He finished in first place for the third time this season, cruising to a 25:38.89 time in the 8k.

Meanwhile, Jelagat was named Newcomer of the Week, winning the award for the second consecutive week, after recording a 13th-place finish in the 6k at the Belhaven Invitational. The standout freshman from Eldoret, Kenya, led the Lady Tigers, as she has all season, to their second straight third-place finish.
