CLINTON, Miss. | Godfrey Kimutai and
Collins Kibet finish in the top 11 as both Jackson State cross country teams closed out the regular season at the Watson Ford Invitational on Friday morning.
Kimutai capped off a phenomenal regular season as he finished in third place with a time of 24:37.10 in the men's 8000-meter race, a new personal record for him. Kibet followed behind him with a 25:35.00 time to secure 11th place.
In the women's 6000-meter race,
Lorine Jelagat was the first Lady Tiger to cross the finish line with a new personal record of 23:15.10 to earn her 16th place. Five of the six members of Jackson State's women's team finished with new personal records, including
Joan Koech and
Amara Hawkins-Quinones.
