JACKSON, Miss. | No. 11 Jackson State hits the road on Saturday to face Grambling State at P&G Las Vegas HBCU Classic presented by The Stephen Lackey Family of Companies at Allegiant Stadium in a key Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) contest.
Kick-off is scheduled for 5 p.m. (CT) on HBCUGO, and the game can also be seen on Amazon Prime Video.

OPENING KICK
- The two teams have not met since last September when Grambling State handed Jackson State it's last loss in 2024 [41-20 in Grambling]. Following that game, Jackson State reeled off 10 consecutive victories and captured the 2024 HBCU National Championship.
- Ahmad Miller turned in the second-best rushing performance of the season against Hampton in the season opener with 180 yards against Hampton. He was even with Joshua Dye of Southern Utah, while Eastern Illinois quarterback Cole LaCrue rushed for nation's best 193 yards. He followed that up with another 100-yard rushing performance against Southern in his last outing - rushing for 101 - after seeing limited action against Tuskegee.
- After sitting out against Tuskegee and having two weeks off, JaCobian Morgan responded with 337 yards through the air and a pair of touchdowns against Southern in the Tigers' last outing. He was named the SWAC Offensive Player of the Week and HBCU National co-Player of the Week. He followed that up with a 314-yard passing game against Alabama A&M and 120 rushing yards in the Gulf Coast Challenge. He was named the SWAC Offensive Player of the Week, HBCU Legends National Player of the Week, FCS HBCU National Player of the Week, and BOXTOROW National Player of the Week.
- Jackson State was named the FCS HBCU National Team of the Week after its win over Southern after racking up over 500 yards of total offense and outscoring Southern 28-0 over the final 30:05 of the game.
- The Tigers had three receivers rack up 90-plus yards in the win over Southern led by Nate Rembert with 102 yards on five receptions. He was joined by Jameel Gardner Jr. with seven receptions for 96 yards and Ja'Naylon Dupree with 93 yards on five receptions. Both Rembert and Dupree had touchdown receptions in the win.
- Jackson State has won its last 13 games against SWAC opponents and has won 14 consecutive games against FCS competition after having its 10-game winning streak snapped by Southern Miss.
- Since the fall of 2021, Jackson State has won 56 of 66 games overall and are 32-3 in regular season games against conference competition. The Tigers have won three Southwestern Athletic Conference [SWAC] championships, played in three Celebrration Bowls, and won the 2024 HBCU national championship.
- The Tigers have had three different players rush for over 100 yards this season [Miller, Morgan and Travis Terrell Jr.].
MORGAN HAS GOTTEN HOT IN CONFERENCE PLAY
JaCobian Morgan has been named the SWAC Offensive or co-Offensive Player of the Week in the first three weeks of conference play for Jackson State, along with a trio of National Player of the Week awards. Morgan has completed 58-of-84 passes [69 percent] through those three games for 842 yards and 11 touchdowns. Has has thrown just one interception in those games, while also rushing for 191 yards and a touchdown in the same games. So far this season, he has completed 87-of-141 [61.7 percent] for 1,120 yards and 11 touchdowns. He has also rushed for 258 yards with a touchdown in five games.
JACKSON STATE AMONG THE BEST IN THE NATION
Jackson State is currently second in the nation in rushing at 266.7 yards per game, trailing only Delaware State this season. The Tigers have rushed for 200-plus yards in four of the six games this season, including 388 against Alabama A&M and 305 against Hampton. The only two games the Tigers haven't reached that mark came against Southern [197] and Southern Miss [191]. Meanwhile, Ahmad Miller is among the nation's best through the first six games of the season, ranking among the nation's best in several categories and needs to average 97 yards per game over the final five regular season games to hit 1,000 yards for the year. The redshirt sophomore leads the nation yards per carry [7.80], and is ranked 23rd in rushing yards per game [85.8] and is 36th in rushing yards [515].
FORMER QUARTERBACK DISRUPTING OFFENSES AS AN EDGE RUSHER
Quincy Ivory, a former quarterback who started his career at Mississippi Valley State, had a career day for Jackson State in his debut in the Hope Labor Day Classic. Ivory earned Defensive MVP honors in the game after recording eight tackles, including four solo from his defensive end position. But that wasn't the biggest stat line as he finished with 3.5 tackles for loss and a pair of sacks. Not to mention, he recovered a fumble and forced a fumble in the win. He did it again against Southern Miss in the first road game of the season with 10 total tackles including a pair of solo, and he also added another sacks and 1.5 tackles for loss. He also added 10 total tackles in a win over Alabama A&M. The graduate student did it again with 12 tackles in a big win over Alabama State in the last game for the Tigers including eight solo stops along the way.
