TALLAHASSEE, Fla. | Jackson State rebounded from its performance last week behind the running attack of Ahmad Miller and Donerio Davenport, cruising past Florida A&M 41-16 on the road in Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) action at Bragg Memorial Stadium on Saturday night.
Miller and Davenport combined for 277 of the team's 392 rushing yards on the night, with Miller leading the way with 165 yards on 19 carries and a touchdown. Meanwhile, Davenport finished with 112 yards on 16 carries with a touchdown, and Nate Rembert picked up a rushing touchdown on a 40-yard jet sweep. Jared Lockhart finished with 37 yards rushing and Travis Terrell Jr. picked up 29 yards and a touchdown on the night for Jackson State (6-2, 4-1 SWAC).Â
Lockhart finished the night 5-of-10 for 104 yards and touchdown, while not throwing an interception or being sacked. He connected with four different receivers including Rembert who finished with a pair of catches for 48 yards a touchdown.
The Jackson State defense held Florida A&M to just 202 yards of total offense including just 70 on the ground. Ashton Taylor led the way with five total tackles including three tackles for loss, while Tymon Wells added five tackles and 0.5 tackle for loss. Jeremiah Williams added four tackles including a tackle for loss and sack, while Reid Pulliam added four tackles.
