FORT WORTH, Texas | Jackson State competed in the Bulldog Classic hosted by Louisiana Tech over the weekend, where they won six matches and scored wins over ranked opponents Tulane and Oklahoma Christian.
In Baker's play, the Tigers faced No. 11 Sacred Heart, Prairie View A&M, Alabama State, No. 1 Jacksonville State, and No. 3 Vanderbilt. They went 2-3 and recorded wins over Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) foes, Alabama State and Prairie View A&M, defeating the Hornets 896-889 and the Panthers 894-841.
The Traditional round saw Jackson State put up a near-perfect performance against fierce competition, as they went 4-1 on the day. The Tigers defeated Florida A&M (832-794), no. 19 Tulane (990-986), no. 24 Oklahoma Christian (991-863), and Southern (924-835). Their lone loss came to the No. 6 Arkansas State Red Wolves (1,118-893) in the last match of the day.
The Tigers concluded the weekend on Sunday, placing 12th after finishing 1-2 against Oklahoma Christian, Southern, and Texas Southern.

Michael Boykins was encouraged with the team's performance over the weekend. "The ladies are really impressing me with their fight, that's for sure."
