JACKSON, Miss. | JaCobian Morgan received the inaugural SWAC Impact Award given to the best Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) football player in the state of Mississippi on Tuesday night at the C-Spire Conerly Award presentation.

Morgan enters championship weekend as a Second Team All-SWAC selection at quarterback after he completed 90-of-147 passing for 1,183 yards. He also threw for 11 touchdowns and just a pair of interceptions while completing 61.2 percent of his passes, and averaged 197.2 yards per game through the air. He also ran for 265 yards on 40 carries with a pair of touchdowns. Morgan threw for two or more touchdowns in three games before his injury including five against Alabama State [10.11] and four against Alabama A&M [10.4], while he also threw for 300 or more yards two times including 337 against Southern [9.27] and Alabama A&M [314]. He was named SWAC Offensive Player of the Week three consecutive weeks [9.27-10.11], and was also named HBCU Player of the Week. Morgan was named BOXTOROW National Player of the Week twice, the first time the award was presented to the same player twice in the same season in 16 years.

Morgan was one of nine nominees for the Conerly Trophy that included Jacorian Sewell (Alcorn State), Wyatt Beck (Belhaven), William Carter IV (Delta State), Grant Bizjack (Millsaps), Brenen Thompson (Mississippi State), Josh Brown (Mississippi Valley State), Trinidad Chambliss (Ole miss), and Braylon Braxton (Southern Miss).

Jackson State hosts Prairie View A&M in the 2025 Pepsi SWAC Football Championships presented by GM on Saturday, Dec. 6. Kick is set for 1 p.m. on ESPN2.
