BIRMINGHAM, Ala. | Jackson State claimed a pair of Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) weekly awards announced by the conference office on Wednesday afternoon, winning both the Player and Newcomer of the Week.

Ching Chang Chiu and Maas Schotanus won their respective awards after the two won the doubles point 6-3 in the Tigers' matchup against the Nicholls Colonels. The win marked the first of the Spring season for the duo, who also won the SWAC Fall Tournament and competed in the ITA Masters in the Fall.
