D'IBERVILLE, Miss. | Jackson State won its final nine matches in the Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) East Roundup to finish third overall in the regular season on Sunday.

Jackson State (40-39, 19-9 SWAC) started the weekend off with a pair of wins on Friday over Prairie View A&M (931-763) and Grambling State (925-665). However, they dropped their final three matches on opening day to Alabama A&M (912-805), Alabama State (937-824), and Southern (912-810) to finish 2-3.

They responded on day two by winning all five of their matches to improve to 7-3 on the weekend beginning with a win over Texas Southern (919-835). The Tigers followed that up with wins over Florida A&M (919-587), Prairie View A&M (981-808), Grambling State (796-610), and Alabama A&M (897-833) to enter the final day of the tournament trailing just Alabama State and Southern in the standings.

The Tigers opened day three with a win over Alabama State (939-813), followed by a win over Southern (921-797) to jump to third overall in the standings. They ended the day falling to Texas Southern (1039-1000) and were awarded a win over Florida A&M.

Jackson State finished 10-4 on the weekend, two games behind Alabama State and one behind Southern. The results, combined with the first roundup, finished with the three teams in the same order to end the regular season.

Individually, MacKenzie Conway finished third with an average of 184.96 (2,588 total pins) in 14 matches. She was joined in the top 10 by a pair of teammates including Faith Washington in eighth with an average of 181.00 (2,534 total pins) and Juliana Rincon in 10th with an average of 180.71 (2,530 total pins). Catalina Tovar finished 14th on the weekend with an average of 185.38 (2,410 pins).

The all-conference teams will be announced later this week by the conference office.
