JACKSON, Miss. | The Lady Tigers knocked off the Alabama State Hornets 4-2 on Monday morning to extend their winning streak against conference opponents to three. 

Jackson State continued their dominance in doubles play, winning the doubles point for the third time in a row. Paula Corbalan and Zeina Shaaban defeated their opponents at number one in a 6-3 decision. Zofia Dziewiecka and Daniella Tovar claimed a 6-3 victory in their matchup to secure the doubles point for the Tigers. 

Shaaban carried her momentum from doubles play into singles play with a hard-fought first set, ending in a 7-5 decision. She wrapped up the match with a 6-2 decision. Freshman Kayleigh Didderiens won her match 6-4, 6-0 at number three. The Hornets battled back with two wins at numbers four and five, leaving it to the Tigers to respond. 

Junior Chiara Desia answered the call, claiming victory at number six in a 6-4, 6-3 decision to give the Tigers their third straight win over Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) opponents.

The Lady Tigers return to action on Sunday at 4 p.m. in Baton Rouge, where they will face LSU.
