Tigers win five matches including two over SWAC opponents at Bulldog Classic

FORT WORTH, Tx. | Jackson State competed in the Bulldog Classic hosted by Louisiana Tech over the weekend, where they won five of their matches.

On the first day, the Tigers faced Oklahoma Christian, Saint Anselm, Morgan State, and Sam Houston, and conference foe Prairie View A&M. They finished with a 2-3 record, including a two-match win streak over Prairie View and Saint Anselm with scores of 749-726 and 740-738 respectively. 

During the Traditional rounds, they faced Saint Anselm for a second time, Tulane, Lousiana Tech, Central Missouri, and Alabama State. The Tigers scored wins over Central Missouri 919-799, Saint Anselm 833-792, and Alabama State 870-779. 

Jackson State concluded the tournament with matches against Saint Anselm for the third and fourth times.

The Tigers will take a week off and return to action at the Music City Classic, hosted by Vanderbilt beginning on March 14.
