ARLINGTON, Texas | The Jackson State bowling team's run at the Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) Championship ended Saturday afternoon as Alabama A&M eliminated the Tigers 2-0 in the mega-match format.
Alabama A&M grabbed a 1-0 lead, taking the traditional game 909-825. Senior Juliana Rincon led the way for the Tigers with a game of 185, while Faith Washington totaled 167. Catalina Tovar (166), Mackenzie Conway (159), and Saida Lugo rounded out the individual bowlers in the traditional game.
The Tigers bounced back from a slow start, winning game one of the Baker five-game total pinfall portion 218-151. The Bulldogs fired back with a 198-158 win in game two, as the two teams began trading wins back and forth. Jackson State cracked the 190s with a 193-169 win in game three. Alabama A&M recorded the highest total of the match with a 231-144 win to take the fourth game. Despite a strong effort from the Tigers, the Bulldogs edged them out with a 179-178 victory to end the Tigers' season.
