NEW ORLEANS, La. | Freshman Kayleigh Didderiens propelled the Jackson State women's tennis team to the Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) championship after clinching the win in the final set of a 4-3 Tigers' victory over Alabama A&M.
Didderiens prevailed in a three-match finale against Talaki Valentine after taking the first set 6-4, before Valentine rallied in the second set to win 7-6. She secured the win in the third with a 6-2 decision.
Zeina Shaaban, Paula Corbalan, and Chiara Desia also recorded singles wins after losing the doubles point. Desia wrapped up her match in a 6-1, 6-3 decision on court six, while Shaaban earned her 6-3, 6-4 win at number one. Corbalan recorded the Tigers' third point soon after with a 7-5, 6-1 decision.
