NEW ORLEANS, La. | The Jackson State women's tennis team saw their 2025 season come to an end on Sunday morning as they fell to the Florida A&M Rattlers, 4-2, in the Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) Championship.
The Tigers finished with a 14-10 overall record and earned the number one seed with an 8-1 conference record.
After doubles went FAMU's way, the Tigers fought back in singles play with Chiara Desia and Paula Corbalan pulling out two crucial wins. Desia finished her final collegiate season undefeated, winning her match in a 6-2, 6-0 decision. Corbalan recorded a two-win day after winning her match in three sets, 3-6, 6-1, 6-1. She also won the Tigers only doubles match alongside Zeina Shaaban, 6-2.
The Tigers could not overcome the deficit as the Rattlers clinched their final three matches on courts one, three, and four to claim the conference championship.
