JACKSON, Miss. | Jackson State defensive back Robert McDaniel officially signed a free agent contract with the Washington Commanders following the 2025 Draft on Saturday night announced by Lady Lib Sports and Entertainment.
McDaniel finished last season as a Phil Steele all-conference performer and an HBCU Legacy Bowl participant. He finished the season with 55 total tackles in 13 games, including 34 solo stops. The defensive back recorded 10 tackles for loss (37 yards) and 4.5 sacks (28 yards), and also recorded a quarterback hurry and five pass breakups. He also finished the season with two forced fumbles and three interceptions.
During his career, McDaniel finished with 94 tackles including 60 solo stops. He also recorded five forced fumbles, six interceptions, and 10 pass breakups.
