HUMBLE, Texas | Jackson State went a perfect 5-0 in its first action of the new year at the SWAC West Roundup on Friday morning.

The Tigers started off hot with a 1,039-874 win over the Florida A&M Rattlers. They followed that up with a 930-883 win over the Alabama State Hornets. In match three, Jackson State faced Grambling and defeated them in an 862-564 contest. Then, the Tigers closed out the day with two more wins against Texas Southern (983-807) and the defending Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) champions, Prairie View A&M, in a competitive 975-910 battle.

Paige Hubert, Tiara Henderson, Faith Washington, and Saida Lugo are all in the top 10 after one day of competition, with Hubert leading all bowlers with an average of 219.00 and 1,095 total pins.
