HUMBLE, Texas | After an undefeated first day of competition, the Jackson State bowling team continued its momentum, going 3-2 in the second day of the Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) West Round Up on Saturday.
The Tigers began the day by extending their winning streak to six straight matches, outlasting the Southern Jaguars in a tight 922-919 contest. Their first loss of the round up came against Alabama A&M in a 961-851 defeat, while the second loss of the day came against Florida A&M(893-874).
Jackson State bounced back in its final two matches with dominant wins over Alabama State(1,033-800) and Grambling (895-678) to bring the Tigers' conference record to 8-2.
Paige Hubert continues to lead all bowlers in average and pin total with 212.10 and 2,121, respectively. She is also the only bowler with an average of 200 or above. Hubert is joined by freshman
Tiara Henderson, who is slotted in at ninth in the individual standings with a 184.30 average and 1,843 pin total.
