JACKSON, Miss. | No. 22 Jackson State hits the road for the second consecutive week in Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) play as it heads to Louisiana to face Grambling State inside Eddie G. Robinson Memorial Stadium.
The game kicks off at 4 p.m. on SWAC TV.
The two teams have met 69 times since 1956, with Grambling State leading the series 21-10 in Grambling and 21-13 in Jackson (Miss.). Grambling State has won the last two meetings, including last season in Las Vegas (Nev.), 26-24, on a last-second field goal. Jackson State (5-0, 2-0 SWAC) enters the contest after back-to-back conference wins over Southern and Alabama A&M, while Grambling State (3-2, 1-1 SWAC) enters Saturday following a home win over Alcorn State.

- Jackson State looks to end a modest two-game losing streak to Grambling State this weekend, returning to "The Hole" for the second time in three years - last year playing in Las Vegas.
- Center Alex Valbuena has recorded a pair of stats that an offensive lineman normally would not post. He picked up a fumble behind the line against Tennessee State [Aug. 29] and was credited with rushing yards. And to top that off, he caught a deflection for a four-yard touchdown reception against Southern [Sept. 26].
- Sophomore linebacker Keith Bass Jr. scored the first defensive touchdown of the season for Jackson State, and his first career touchdown. Bass recovered a fumble in the end zone against Tuskegee [Sept. 19] for the score. He currently leads the team in tackles with 26 total, including 16 solo stops.
