HUNTSVILLE, Ala. | The Jackson State women's bowling team wrapped up conference play at the Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) East Roundup on Sunday morning, splitting their final four games to set their record on the weekend at 12-2.
The Tigers fell in their first Traditional match of the day against the Texas Southern Tigers 838-795. They bounced back in the second match against Prairie View A&M with a 917-809 victory. In the final two matches against Southern and Alabama A&M, the Tigers dropped a close one to the Jaguars in an 857-853 defeat, before beating the Bulldogs 869-839 to close out the weekend.
Three Jackson State women placed in the top 10 in individual standings, with freshman
Tiara Henderson leading the way at number six. Henderson posted an average of 183.86 and a total of 2,543 pins.
Faith Washington and
MacKenzie Conway followed behind in the eighth and 10th spots, respectively.
With both roundups in the books, the Tigers' total conference record stands at 24-2.
Paige Hubert maintained her number one position with a combined average of 192.36 and 5,386 total pins in 28 games. Henderson is slotted at the third spot with 4,878 pins and a 187.25 average. Washington rounded off the Tigers' top 10 representatives with an average of 184.96 and 5,179 total pins.
