ARLINGTON, Texas | The regular season champion Tigers began their quest for the postseason crown on Friday afternoon, defeating the Alabama A&M Bulldogs in their opening match at the International Bowling Training and Research Center (ITRC).
Jackson State took a 1-0 lead after taking the traditional game 919-867. They concluded the day with a 924-801 victory in the Baker five-game portion of the mega-match to advance.
Faith Washington led the way for the Tigers in the individual standings with a one-game total of 213. Freshman Tiara Henderson followed with a 200 total, while Saida Lugo totaled 193 in her second-career SWAC Tournament. Paige Hubert (158) and MacKenzie Conway (155) rounded off the Tigers' averages.
