JACKSON, Miss. | Jackson State men's tennis team picked up a 4-2 home nonconference win against the Dillard Bleu Devils on Sunday afternoon.
Gokalp Ayar and
Fabrizio Fallas picked up the first win in doubles play for Jackson State (6-10, 2-1 SWAC) with a 6-3 win at number three. After the Bleu Devils evened the score with a win at number one,
Jhoan Vaquero and
Federico Pickenstainer defeated their opponents 6-4 to secure the doubles point for the Tigers.
Ayar completed his 2-0 day after recording a 7-6, 6-2 victory at number four, while a 6-3, 0-6, 6-2 win by Vaquero in a three-set thriller stifled Dillard's rally, where they gained two wins at courts one and two. Fallas sealed the deal with a 7-5, 6-3 to get the Tigers back in the win column.
