JACKSON, Miss. | Jackson State shut out Delta State in a 4-0 decision on Tuesday afternoon at home to extend its winning streak to six.
The Tigers (10-9, 6-0 SWAC) began the day by winning the doubles point with strong performances by the teams of
Isabella Benavides and
Polina Georgieva, and
Helen Hernandez and
Victoria Linkovski. Both teams had identical 6-2 victories to give the Tigers the advantage headed into singles play.
Senior
Daniela Tovar was the first to wrap up her singles match in a 6-3, 6-1 decision at number six, while Alvarez completed a perfect day with a 6-3, 6-2 victory on court five. Linkovski clinched the win for the Tigers with a 6-4, 6-2 win to extend their win streak to six matches.
