Jackson State made its first appearance in the Stats Perform FCS Top 25 this week following its win over Southern in its SWAC (Southwestern Athletic Conference) opener.

Jackson State (4-0, 1-0 SWAC) defeated Southern 35-17 and jumped into the top 25 at No. 25 after receiving votes last week.

The top 10 includes Montana State, South Dakota State, Montana, Tarleton State, North Dakota, Lehigh, Stephen F. Austin, Youngstown State, Tennessee Tech, and Illinois State. They are followed by Austin Peay at No. 11, Idaho State, South Dakota, Lamar, South Carolina State, UC Davis, West Florida, Campbell, Northern Arizona, and Harvard. The final five include SOuthern Illinois, Colgate, Mercer, Richmond, and Jackson State.
