Austin Robinson

Austin Robinson is entering his third season with the Jackson State University football program, currently serving as the Video and Creative Director.

Since accepting the role in February 2023, Robinson has become a cornerstone of the Tigers’ operational efforts, bridging the gap between high-level technical film analysis and cutting-edge digital storytelling. He initially joined the program as a volunteer during the 2022 campaign, where he immediately proved his value by collaborating with university administration to spearhead a national Heisman trophy campaign for former standout quarterback Shedeur Sanders.

In his current leadership capacity, Robinson oversees a diverse department that balances the immediate needs of the coaching staff with the long-term branding goals of the university. He is responsible for coordinating all aspects of film exchange and managing the specialized crews that capture every practice and game to provide vital tactical evidence for weekly scouting reports. Simultaneously, Robinson directs the program’s creative output and manages a student-led creative team, empowering the next generation of content creators to shape an authentic and modern image for Jackson State Football across all digital platforms.

A native of Florence, Mississippi, Robinson earned his Bachelor of Architecture from Mississippi State University in 2016.

Before transitioning to athletics, he spent six years in the architecture field handling high-stakes assignments for the Department of Defense, NASA, and the Department of Homeland Security. His experience renovating technical plans for lab incubators and hangars, as well as designing military base facilities, provided a foundation in precision and project management that now drives his innovative work in sports media and football operations.
