Aniecia Brewster joined the Jackson State University Division of Athletics staff in 2019, becoming Administrative Assistant/Operations for the Women's and Men's Cross Country and Track and Field program.
As Administrative Assistant/Operations for the cross country/track and field program, Brewster monitors the academic performance of the program’s student-athletes, manages the student-athlete database to ensure quality assurance/quality control, coordinates the team travel itinerary to ensure efficient travel, and provides support to the coaching staff during practice sessions and competition.
An alumna and former student-athlete of Jackson State, Brewster has played a role in the program capturing a Southwestern Athletic Conference men’s cross country championship in 2021, while producing several all-conference performers in men’s and women’s cross country, indoor track and field, and outdoor track and field.
Brewster ran track from 2013-17 while matriculating at Jackson State. She also played soccer during the 2017 season. In track, she reaped several team honors, including Freshman of the Year, Most Valuable Player (two years) and Team Captain (three years).
Brewster also served as a graduate assistant to Head Coach Mark Thorne and Assistant Coach Jonathan "Kountry" Harris during the 2017-18 and 2018-19 seasons. The program captured a SWAC men’s cross country championship in 2017, during her stint as graduate assistant.
Brewster obtained a Bachelor's degree in Mass Communication with a minor in Speech Communications from Jackson State in December 2016. Later, she earned a Master’s degree in Sports Management from Jackson State in December 2018, followed by a Master’s degree in Business Administration, also from Jackson State, in May 2024.
A native of Belleville, Ill., Brewster is a member of Lambda Pi Eta Honor Society, Chi Alpha Epsilon Honor Society, and Chi Alpha Sigma Honor Society. She has also served as a sports anchor for the Jackson State University News Network.
