Christina T. Ross returns to Jackson State as Associate Athletic Director for Academics and Compliance in July 2026 after a stint at Alabama A&M as the Associate Athletics Director for Compliance.
While at Alabama A&M, Ross directed compliance for 18-plus Division I programs, protecting institutional integrity and student-athlete eligibility. She provided comprehensive NCAA compliance oversight for 425-plus student-athletes and 65-plus coaches and staff across those programs. Ross also served as the Title IX investigator during her time at Alabama A&M.
Ross began her career as an Athletic Compliance Coordinator at Prairie View A&M in July 2015 before being promoted to the Director of Athletic Compliance in August 2017. She served in that role until July 2019 and returned to the university as the Associate Athletic Director for Athletic Compliance in February 2023. During her time at Prairie View A&M, she oversaw women’s bowling, women’s softball, men’s and women’s tennis, and men’s & women’s track & field/cross country. Additionally, Ross assisted with compliance and academic matters related to both NCAA and SWAC initial eligibility for new student-athletes and continuing eligibility for returning and transfer student-athletes, the athletic book program, and Rules Education efforts.
Between her stints at Prairie View A&M, Ross served as the Assistant Athletic Director for Compliance at Jackson State from August 2019 to January 2023. While at Jackson State, Ross interpreted NCAA and SWAC by-laws, rules, and regulations for all 16 intercollegiate athletic programs to coaches and staff, maintained the compliance website and produced the compliance electronic newsletter, processed waivers for initial eligibility for new student-athletes and continuing eligibility for returning and transfer student-athletes, issued National Letters of Intent and financial aid agreements for prospective student-athletes as well as oversaw game day complimentary ticket admissions.
Ross, a native of Florence (Miss.), is a product of Rankin County Public Schools – Florence High School, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in athletic training (2010) from the University of Southern Mississippi and a master’s degree in sports science management (2015) from Jackson State University. She is a member National Association for Athletic Compliance (NAAC), the National Association of Collegiate Women Athletics Administrators (NACWAA), and Minority Opportunities for Athletics Administration (MOAA).
Ross is a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., and is the daughter of Roosevelt and Runchy Ross.
