Dr. Monica S. Lewis joined Jackson State University in 2014. She has served as Associate Director and later Director of Annual Giving, where she was responsible for the strategic execution and management of the JSU Annual Fund and university fundraising events — building a strong foundation of ongoing financial support.
In this role, Dr. Lewis launched JSU Day of Giving, the university’s annual 24-hour fundraising campaign, established a branded faculty and staff giving campaign, and created the student giving initiative known as “Thee” JSU Giving Cords. She also developed and implemented the policies and procedures for the JSU Student Emergency/GAP Fund.
Currently serving as Director of Development for Athletics and Executive Director of the JSU Tiger Fund Athletic Foundation, Dr. Lewis has helped secure more than $34 million in support for university programs, athletics, scholarships, and corporate sponsorships.
A two-time alumna of Jackson State University, Dr. Lewis also holds a Certificate in Fund Raising Management (CFRM) from Indiana University Lilly Family School of Philanthropy and a Certificate in Nonprofit Management from the University of Wisconsin–Milwaukee.
