Esaias Guthrie joins the Jackson State coaching staff for his first season, joining the staff in Summer 2025, as a Defensive Analyst/Assistant Safeties coach.
He joins the staff after an illustrious career that concluded with the 2024 Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) championship and the HBCU National Championship. The former Tiger finished his career with 97 total tackles including 61 solos stops at Jackson State, while also 7.5 tackles for loss and recording three sacks. Guthrie recorded eight pass break-ups and intercepted two passes in his two years at Jackson State.
Guthrie was named Second Team All-SWAC and Second Team Phil Steele All-SWAC in 2024. He initially started his career at Delaware State where he was named 2022 Preseason All-MEAC, HERO Sports FCS Freshman All-America. and All-MEAC First Team.
