Jasmine Johnson enters her first season as the Director of Operations and Assistant Coach for Jackson State University’s Track & Field and Cross Country programs. In her role, Johnson oversees the day-to-day operations of the program, including travel coordination, meet management, recruiting logistics, and administrative support. Alongside her operational duties, she works directly with the jumps group, specializing in coaching the pole vault.

A former standout student-athlete for Jackson State, Johnson made her mark as one of the top vaulters in the Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC). As a freshman, she earned a runner-up finish in the SWAC Indoor Championships and was named the 2016 Indoor Track & Field MVP. Johnson still holds the JSU women’s outdoor pole vault record.

During her undergraduate career, Johnson also served on the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) Executive Board as treasurer and was an active student leader through the Student Government Association (SGA).

A native of Clinton, Mississippi, Johnson earned her Bachelor of Arts degree with a concentration in Graphic Design from Jackson State University. Outside of coaching, she enjoys photography, digital freehand illustration, and spending time with family and friends.
