Jackson State University

Jayah Drennen begins her first year at Jackson State as an Academic Advisor, joining the department in the summer of 2025.

She comes to Jackson State from Baylor where she served as an Academic Coach, advising baseball and equestrian freshman. She also served on the New Student-Athlete Experience and Student-Athlete Recognition Committees.

In the summer 2023, Drennen served as a Summer Residential Advisor at IMG Academy, ensuring the safety and welfare of all students. She also spent two-plus years at Overtime Elite as a Residential Programs Coordinator.

Originally from East Orange, N.J., Drennen earned her Bachelors in Sports Management from Temple University. During her last semester, she served as an Academic Advisor for Vision Academy (a basketball prep program).
