Kendal Manns joins the Jackson State staff in the Summer 2024 after serving as a student assistant in the Alabama State Strategic Communications Office.
While at Alabama State, he was responsible for several digital aspects of the office including assisting current Jackson State Associate AD/Public Relations Travis Jarome with production and editing games and content for the Hornet Sports Network. He also assisted with promos videos and shoots that involved student-athletes and coaches that were used for pregame and in-game entertainment, as well as social media.
Manns also assisted in writing pieces on student-athletes for BamaStateSports.com, while assisting with day-to-day operations of the office.
Prior to his time with the department, Manns served as the Editor-in-Chief for the Hornet Tribune, an on-campus student newspaper at Alabama State, and launched The Wild Card Podcast with classmate Khalil Stewart. He also earned a summer internship – the Sekou Smith Summer League Experience Basketball Communications Summer Internship with the Atlanta Hawks.
He earned his bachelor degree from Alabama State in May 2024.
