Terrance McGrew joined the Jackson State men’s basketball staff as Director of Basketball Operations for the 2026-27 season.
McGrew is a native of Conyers, Georgia, and a 2024 Jackson State University graduate, where he earned his undergraduate degree in Journalism and Media Studies.
He began his collegiate basketball career as a student manager for the Jackson State women’s basketball program under Head Coach Tomekia Reed during the 2023–2024 season. During that season, he was part of a program that captured the Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) Championship. Following his time with the women’s program, McGrew continued his development in collegiate basketball, serving as a graduate manager under Head Coach Mo Williams for the past two years.
Through his experience with both programs, McGrew has gained valuable knowledge of collegiate basketball operations, including practice preparation, team logistics, and supporting player development.
McGrew is the son of Terry and Patti McGrew. His family shares a special connection with Jackson State University, as his mother, Patti, is also a proud graduate of the university, earning her degree in 1994.
