Waco, Texas  – The Jackson State men's basketball team travels to No.7-ranked Baylor for a 2 p.m. tip-off on ESPN+.

Tristan Jarrett, the leading scorer in the Southwestern Athletic Conference, scored a game-high 20 points and No. 9 Memphis fought past Jackson State 77-49 Saturday afternoon at the FedEx Forum.
 
UM improved to 10-1 and JSU stands at 3-9 overall.
 
Jayveous McKinnis grabbed a game-high 14 rebounds and added seven points.
 
Roland Griffin helped out 15 points and hauled in seven rebounds.
 
JSU played a stingy defense and forced UM into a season-high 28 turnovers, which the Tigers turned into 18 points.
 
As a team, the Blue & White shot 32.3 percent (20-of-62) from the field, while UM connected on 55.2 percent (32-of-58) of its shot attempts.
 
JSU concludes non-conference action Monday, December 30 at Baylor.
 
Tigers Reach 100 Points Under Coach Brent
 
Earlier this season, the Tigers put up 100 points in a 113-67 victory over Southeastern Baptist College. It was the first 100-point game in the Wayne Brent Era and the first since the Tigers won 100-97 against Texas-El Paso on Dec. 22, 2006. It was also just the second 100-point game for Jackson State since 1995, in a 102-84 home win over Prairie View A&M.
 
Tristan Jarrett had a career performance in the victory, finishing with 38 points on 14-of-24 shooting from the floor.
 
Jarrett also led the Tigers with four 3-pointers and was 6-of-8 from the free throw line.
 
 
JSU by the Numbers
 
A trio of Tigers are averaging double digits. Jarrett is averaging 20 points per game, which leads the SWAC. Jarrett has also handed out 29 assists and recorded 23 steals and eight blocks. Roland Griffin is averaging 15.3 p.p.g and Jayveous McKinnis averaging almost a double-double with 11.0 points and 9.3 rebounds per contest. McKinnis has 17 blocks, which ranks second in the conference.
 
Baylor by the Numbers
No. 7 Baylor is averaging 76.6 points per game while only allowing 60.6 points per game. They present two players that are averaging double digit points in Jared Butler (17.6 ppg) and MaCio Teague (14.5 ppg).
