BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Southern edged Jackson State 45-41 in the 2019 Southwestern Athletic Conference Women's Championship Game Saturday afternoon at Bill Harris Arena.

Marneisha Hamer dropped a game-high 17 points on 6-of-13 shooting from the field. Senior
Christina Ellis added 12 points on 5-of-11 from the field and handed out three assists. Ellis also played the entire 40 minutes.
Junior
Kaisah Lucky grabbed a game-high nine rebounds and scored six points while posting three steals and three assists.
As a team, JSU shot 26.9 percent (14-of-52) from the field. The Lady Tigers also forced SU into 14 turnovers, which was turned into 11 points.
Hamer and Ellis were also named to the all-tournament team.
