JACKSON – The Jackson State baseball team concluded its home stand with a comfortable 13-7 victory over Tougaloo College in a non-conference matchup Tuesday night.
The Tigers and Bulldogs were tied at two apiece heading into the bottom of the third when JSU broke the game open by scoring eight runs, which was highlighted by
Tyler Culpepper's two RBI single.
Culpepper finished the night 1-for-4 with three RBI and scored a run. Chris Prenriss batted 3-for-5 with a pair of runs batted in and scored three runs.

Dezmond Chumley,
Rahman Williams and
Jaylyn Williams each picked up a hit and an RBI.
Brandon Valentin started and earned the win. The junior tossed five innings and allowed seven hits, five runs (three earned) and one walk and fanned three batters.
With the win, Jackson State goes to 11-16 overall and Tougaloo falls to 5-18. The Tigers return to action Wednesday and travel to University of Louisiana at Monroe and return home and back to conference play Friday vs. That School in Lorman.
